Direct Selling News' annual review describes 2025 as a year of structural change for the network marketing and direct selling channel, with service-based businesses accounting for more than 60 percent of total U.S. channel volume. The outlet forecasts further consolidation in 2026, projecting that more than $1 billion worth of direct selling companies could change hands.

Global direct selling revenue fell to $163,863 million in 2024, yet the figure still sits above pre-pandemic levels while the distributor base has flattened at 104.3 million. Against that backdrop, Epixel MLM Software's ranking of the largest skincare-focused direct selling companies shows a field split between double-digit growers, flat performers and steep decliners.

Research houses put the global direct selling market somewhere between $237.4bn and $260.7bn for 2025, with projections for 2026 clustering in the $252bn–$283bn range. Behind the headline numbers sit more than 100 million independent distributors, a heavily female salesforce and a channel increasingly reshaped by mobile and AI tools.
