The Canadian direct selling company built on loose-leaf tea and home gatherings has ceased operations, with founders Tonia and Hatem Jahshan citing financial reasons in a message to consultants. Online orders have been halted immediately and the company says it cannot pay outstanding commissions.

Direct Selling News' annual review describes 2025 as a year of structural change for the network marketing and direct selling channel, with service-based businesses accounting for more than 60 percent of total U.S. channel volume. The outlet forecasts further consolidation in 2026, projecting that more than $1 billion worth of direct selling companies could change hands.

Amway has been recognized as the world's number one direct selling company for 2026, according to the Direct Selling News Global 100 list. The ranking, based on 2025 revenue, marks the 14th consecutive year the company has held the top position.

The same report turns to eXp Realty's cloud-based commission-sharing model as an example of how the channel has spread beyond consumer goods.

Research houses put the global direct selling market somewhere between $237.4bn and $260.7bn for 2025, with projections for 2026 clustering in the $252bn–$283bn range. Behind the headline numbers sit more than 100 million independent distributors, a heavily female salesforce and a channel increasingly reshaped by mobile and AI tools.

The direct selling industry closed 2024 with $163.9 billion in global retail sales, essentially flat against the previous year, while the salesforce edged up by just 0.1% to 104.3 million. New company-level figures compiled from businessforhome.org data, updated in August 2026, show a widening gap between fast-growing challengers and legacy players in retreat.
